Staff at The Hospital School always work within the Department of Education Wellbeing Framework, to support the physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs of the students at the School. Our commitment to our students, parents and members of the community is that The Hospital School will have teaching and learning environments that enable the development of healthy, happy, successful and productive individuals. In turn, our students will be expected to contribute to their own wellbeing, the wellbeing of their peers and the collective wellbeing of their communities.
The Hospital School at The Children's Hospital at Westmead caters to a broad cross section of students from differing backgrounds, places, religions and social beliefs. As such, it is vitally important that all students attending the Primary, Hall Ward, Westmead and High School Classrooms are SAFE, RESPECTFUL and THOUGHTFUL, for the wellbeing of themselves and their peers.
Therefore students are requested to adhere to the following guidelines for dress and footwear when attending the classroom:
1. Closed in footwear that does not expose your toes.
2. Modest clothing. Mid-riff tops, exposed shoulders, cleavage or upper thighs are inappropriate.
3. A jacket, jumper or cardigan so that you do not have to return to your ward if you become cold.
4. A hat if you are going outside with the class.
5. Scarves are not required as the classrooms are heated.
6. Clothing with offensive slogans, drug references and profanities are inappropriate
