The Primary classroom is located on Level 2 next to the Orthopaedic Ward. We provide a safe, caring and engaging learning environment for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The students are a mix of siblings and patients, long term and short term.
The primary class program is a full day program where students work on outcomes from NSW Syllabus in a range of subjects based on their individualised program that is developed in consultation with parents, medical teams and census school when possible. We also offer whole class programs in Science and Technology, HSIE, PDHPE and have an amazing art program led by an experience specialist art teacher.
The classroom teacher Margaret Durkin and the SLSO Lisa Chapman work with the students and parents to ensure the students receive a quality educational experience that will assist them with transition to their home school on discharge.
