Deafness Centre

 

The Deafness Centre located on Level Two, is an assessment, diagnosis and counselling service for hearing impaired and deaf children and adolescents and their families. 

The multidisciplinary team working in the Deafness Centre, includes doctors, a social worker, a support teacher-hearing, a specialist counsellor-hearing and Allied Health professionals.

The support teacher-hearing, Carmel Dawson, liaises with the census school and education centre and works closely with the Deafness Centre team, the children and their families: providing relevant information on hearing loss and education options and strategies for early intervention, K-12 school students as well as support for school leavers.
