T4L robots

The Technology 4 Learning (T4L) team operates out of the NSW Department of Education's Information Technology Directorate (ITD). The team is comprised of innovators, ICT experts, teachers and other specialists to support teachers, students and schools with the best technology and advice to create classrooms of the future.

The Hospital School Westmead has been working closely with T4L on their Telepresence Robot Pilot.

T4L aims to provide telepresence robots to schools to allow children who are ill, and missing extended time off school, to come into the classroom. We have 3 T4L telepresence robots, called ohmnibots, which are used to connect ward students to our classroom.

Ward students can attend our classrooms virtually. In this case, a ward student joins her peers in a maths lesson, maintaining social and educational connection.

Ward students are able to join classroom events via telepresence.
