Meal breaks

Located within Westmead Children's Hospital, our school does not have an on-site canteen. Morning tea is provided by hospital staff, or inpatients return to their ward for morning tea. While students are expected to bring their own lunch and drink bottle, inpatients also return to the ward for lunch, which is provided by nursing staff.

Families staying at Ronald McDonald House are provided with food and resources to prepare packed lunches for students. For students attending school as outpatients, parents and carers have the option to purchase lunch at the IGA conveniently located at the front of the hospital premises.

Accommodating for patient meal breaks

Our school will accommodate for student meal breaks if they fall outside of our set school times due to medical conditions, appointments or procedures.
